APRIL 202219MANUFACTURING TECHNOLOGY INSIGHTSThe third operating business, New Dimensions Precision Machining, excels in the Fluid Power industry with its automated machining line. By having 21 palletized robotic horizontal mills that can run 24/7, the company delivers best-in-class services to clients without compromising on quality. New dimensions also have in-house deburring, thermal deburring, washing, and assembly departments."Our acquisitions are strategic to avoid industry, customer, and capability redundancy, ensure industry and capability diversification, and position ourselves as a one-stop-shop solution for the varying machining needs of OEMs," says Vogl. "The collective expertise and collaborative culture we have at PMG helps adhere to our goal of `getting every part right' and align well with the varying demands of our extensive customer base." A good example of PMG's customer-centricity is the strategic approach adopted to address the unprecedented events due to the pandemic. Proactively, the company looked for alternative solutions to fulfill clients' demands while facing global supply chain issues. When their offshore manufacturing facilities could not keep up with skyrocketing demand in Q4, 2020 PMG immediately shipped all available inventory. As a customer-specific, category of one solution provider, PMG went above and beyond the competition to machine parts domestically, absorbing the additional expense, and airfreight offshore containers at their expense. PMG also created an internal algorithm using data from customer open order reports, on hand inventory, containers mid transit, and offshore WIP to predict with a 95 percent certainty when an order will be received four months in advance. This enabled PMG to delivery product to customers and work cooperatively so no customers experienced a "line down" situation. This proactive solution-oriented example is one of many ways PMG is a true partner to their customers and differentiates from the precision machining industry. Moving ahead with its collaborative efforts to make a difference in the machining space, PMG strives to keep innovation and customer-first approach at the core of its operations. The company continues to invest in additional equipment with the strategy of diversifying into new capabilities and gaining new customers in different industries. "Our goal is continued organic growth through industries and customer expansions while evaluating strategic acquisitions to enhance operations and accelerate customer onboarding," concludes Vogl. Our strategic acquisitions avoid industry, customer, and capability redundancy. PMG's goal is to be positioned as a one-stop-shop for the evolving needs of our customers and industries served
