DECEMBER 20239MANUFACTURING TECHNOLOGY INSIGHTSmanufacturing plant. However, due to the pandemic, the realm of manufacturing is witnessing strategic changes like using temperature screening technologies and social distancing on the manufacturing floor for employee safety. Using a combination of technology and processes; we have optimized our manufacturing cells to create social distancing.NEW TECHNOLOGICAL TRENDS IN THE MARKETOur tech radar is a screening process where we scan the technologies available in the marketplace that are relevant to our context and help us achieve our goals. Our practices are built around significantly advancing robotic process automation, which is playing a pivotal role. We are in the process of implementing technologies within the manufacturing plant, like wearable technology for safety, computer vision for defect checking, and data analytics for visualization. The primary area of focus in our manufacturing plant is finding the best value-driven opportunities for autonomous robots, augmented reality, IoT, cloud, and analytics.FUTURE OF THE MANUFACTURING SPACE, 12 TO 18 MONTHS DOWN THE LINETechnologies are invading the manufacturing space in a way to augment human action or the human decision-making process. In the next 18 months, while many companies will be doing proof of concept or pilot around these technologies that are maturing and having increased use cases, some companies will be more advanced and move ahead with implementing these technologies. The critical aspect is as the technology advances, organizations' understanding of the technology, its potential application, and value proposition will also increase simultaneously. The point of inflection will occur when technology is mature enough such that manufacturers can understand and articulate its values, leading to more significant adoption of manufacturing technologies. My advice to my team and other professionals is to emphasize being both value and customer-centric and not technology-centric whether it is external customers or internal customers
