Cold Jet Reinvents Dry Ice Blasting with the Introduction of PCS60

By Manufacturing Technology Insights | Thursday, April 25, 2019

The renowned firm in environmentally sustainable cleaning, surface preparation, and transport cooling solutions, Clod Jet launches dry ice blaster PCS® 60 representing the apex of dry ice blasting technology which is expected to establish the industry standards for dry ice blasting machines in the global marketplace.

On this occasion, Gene Cooke III, President, and CEO, Cold Jet opines, “Cold Jet is proud to introduce the PCS® 60 to the global marketplace. The machine is the highest performing dry ice blaster available and features many technological advancements that are firsts in our industry.  The PCS 60 continues Cold Jet's tradition of leading the way and guiding our industry forward.”

The PCS® 60 harnesses finely controlled particles of dry ice as a blasting medium through Cold Jet’s proprietary and patented Particle Control System™ (PCS). It precisely cuts the dry ice into diamond-shaped particles in the exact dimensions chosen by the operator by accepting 3 mm pellets as input. This machine gives the operator complete control to choose dry ice particle size (from 3 mm to 0.3 mm) and fine-tune the most effective setting for each unique application. Industry changing performance of the PCS® 60 allows users to clean faster with higher power and its optimized design promises consistent and pulses free blast stream with impactful cost savings.

With a 7” LCD screen with digital controls, the PCS® 60 provides an intuitive HMI display that facilitates the operator to view and customize blasting parameters and machine settings easily. The machine also hosts programmable and password-protected application recipes enabling users to set and save blasting parameters including blast pressure, particle size, and feed rate which in effect will increase efficiency and ensures the right settings for each application. The machine is integration-ready and can be connected to a robot or any other PLC-controlled automation system via an optional accessory package.

The optimized design of straight through air system and redesigned SureFlow™ feeding system allows for an ergonomically-friendly footprint. PCS® 60's IoT connectivity provides remote monitoring and diagnostics while enabling operators to collect and manage data for optimum performance and productivity. Having user comfort in mind, the machine is tailored with reduced weight and size and its wheels with drastic mobility and maneuverability.
