Joe Paprocki, CFOAs a prominent producer of dispensers in the away-from-home market, Alwin Manufacturing specializes in manufacturing towel, tissue, and napkin dispensers. The company takes a distinctive approach by internally developing and designing most of its products, setting it apart from others that rely on external design and engineering service providers. This in-house capability is its core strength, allowing for seamless integration between design and manufacturing.
Alwin is equipped with advanced technology for the in-house production of injection-molded plastic parts. It has 56 injection molding machines, ranging from 60 to 900 tons, equipped with automation robots to meet evolving dispenser needs. It operates 24/7 with three shifts, significantly reducing lead times and ensuring quick and effective project molding.
With manufacturing facilities located in Wisconsin and Vietnam, the company not only produces its own line of dispensers but also collaborates closely with partners to bring their dispenser concepts to life. This collaborative process involves designing distinctive looks and incorporating specific technologies tailored to the partners’ systems, ensuring the creation of personalized products for every client.
“We take pride in the aesthetic appeal we infuse into every dispenser we design. Our belief is that our dispensers represent a near-perfect fusion of form and function — not only do they deliver exceptional performance, but they also boast an appealing look that complements and enhances room décor,” says Joe Paprocki, CFO at Alwin Manufacturing.
It offers an extensive selection of dispensers encompassing roll towels, folded towels, toilet tissue, and napkin variants and stands out as a global leader in roll towel expertise. Alwin boasts two exceptional models, their hands-free mechanical dispenser and electronic roll towel dispenser, exhibiting its commitment to innovation and excellence in the field.
When engaging with clients, Alwin conducts thorough consultations to understand their requirements, whether for ready-made systems or custom-designed ones. Alwin collaborates throughout the process, from conceptualization to manufacturing.
Alwin ensures dispenser performance in diverse conditions through rigorous testing, including extremes of temperature and humidity. Dispensing systems undergo cycle testing, with some reaching up to several million cycles, reflecting Alwin’s dedication to high standards.
In a recent example of innovation, Alwin responded to a client’s request for 100 samples of Internet of Things (IoT) connected dispensers. Over six months, Alwin crafted and assembled the parts in-house, developing the entire IoT technology and showcasing its comprehensive capabilities. Embracing dispenser technology evolution, Alwin continues to enhance their products with their expertise in circuity. Their engineering team is proficient in software programs like Creo and CAD, facilitating extensive 2D and 3D design capabilities.
“We successfully navigated cost challenges with resilience through the pandemic and beyond. Our commitment to excellence is reflected in the quality and durability of our dispensing systems which are designed to stand the test of time on our customers’ walls” says Carl Wolter, Director of OEM Sales and Marketing at Alwin Manufacturing.
