As part of their advanced NDT portfolio, Arise Global offers Acoustic Emission technique that detects the short bursts of ultrasound emission by active defects (e.g. cracks) under a load. This is most beneficial for assets that are operational or remote/ inaccessible like buried equipment, in-process inspection, large structures. While Acoustic Emission is an indirect assessment of assets, Arise Global has a proven capability to provide inspection results that can be used for preventative and corrective actions by clients. Radiography Testing (RT) is commonly used for welding inspection in manufacturing fabrication. To circumvent the limitations of RT with regard to productivity, evacuation requirements, and hazardous consumables, Arise Global presents Phased Array Ultrasonic Technique (PAUT) testing with Total Focusing Method (TFM). In addition, Dual Matrix Array Probes are utilized to overcome the challenges associated with inspecting welds of special materials such as Inconel and stainless steel.
Other techniques are Pulsed Eddy Current for detection of corrosion under insulation, Guided Waves testing for inspection of pipelines, SRUT for detection of corrosion in tank annular plate and corrosion under pipe supports, MFL for thickness mapping of storage tanks floor and Automatic Ultrasonic corrosion mapping techniques for inspection and assessment of Pressure vessels, storage tanks as well as pipelines. Arise Global also provides ACFM for detection of surface breaking cracks and remote Visual Inspection using robotic crawlers for inspection of confined spaces or hazardous locations with the use of high-tech video camera systems where human entry is impractical, physically impossible or unsafe.

For determining if a tube has a defect, e.g. blockage-deposit, hole or wall loss, Arise Global provides a product called Acoustic Pulse Reflectometry Inspection System (APRIS). The compact hand-held system is able to scan tubes of any material (carbon steel, aluminium, plastic, etc.) and any configuration (straight tubes, twisted tubes, multiple bends, etc.). APRIS is the fastest among all inspection technologies and is finding traction particularly in oil refineries, chemical plants, and power plants to inspect the conditions of boilers, air coolers, heat exchangers, condensers, and other tubular equipment. Moreover, precise defect quantification allows these industries to take necessary corrective and predictive action and maximize the lifetime of their equipment.
Illustrating the capabilities of Arise Global’s NDT services, Anne mentions the case of a petrochemical plant in Italy. In petrochemical plants, the distillation process is mainly dependent on the condition of the Column Reboiler and any corrosion on the interior of the tubes causes failure. The client required NDT services to find the pitting wall loss on the tube interior and acquire the precise location of leaks. Leveraging APRIS, a total of 356 U Tubes were inspected in a matter of only 1.5 hours. Initially, the client projected that 20 percent of their tubes needed to be plugged, but after Arise Global’s inspection, the number was reduced to 8 percent. This resulted in preventing lower reboiler efficiency due to lesser number of tubes plugged.
Amid the recent COVID-19 pandemic, Arise Global continues delivering sustained support to its clients remotely.
