Metal fabrication and associated product development require extensive manpower, expertise, and several tedious stages of engineering and design. As a one-stop job shop, FIM has effectively eradicated the many hoops that companies in the industrial sector are expected to jump through at every juncture, and it is able to do so by significantly investing in cutting-edge equipment and delivering turnkey solutions that position companies to work smarter, not harder.

From design, CNC cutting and bending, precision welding, metal and crane fabrication, and installation to inspection and training, in-house painting, and powder coating, FIM covers the entire spectrum of industrial metal fabrication services. FIM’s diverse portfolio of service offerings is geared toward solving any and all production bottlenecks.

“We pride ourselves on offering a full line of fabrication services that are completely customized to finish a project on-time and on-budget,” says Stan Kornelsen, General Manager of FIM. “However, we can also piecemeal those services for the customer as needed. They can select from a ‘menu’ and choose any of the services that they may not have access to in-house.”

By providing high-quality products and services and serving customers’ every need, FIM has quickly risen as a leader in the industrial fabrication industry. This Texas-based manufacturer has transformed itself from a small machine shop to a large-scale job shop that delivers expedited services to businesses seeking structural steel fabrication assistance in the oil and gas, agriculture, construction, and manufacturing industries.

Working with FIM from the early design stages all the way to completion provides customers the opportunity to limit the process of outsourcing to various third-party vendors. This, in turn, allows prospective clients to minimize communication overlaps by entrusting the entire process to a single team of fabrication experts.

Alternatively, FIM also provides services to customers who can spearhead specific aspects of the manufacturing process themselves. These customers are especially attracted to the streamlined and detailed results that FIM provides, which frees up specialized manpower and valuable time that can be invested in other pertinent aspects of the fabrication process.

The one-stop-shop nature of FIM’s business model is evidenced by its success in providing a mutually beneficial solution for a customer specialized in providing agricultural equipment for crop processing systems. They required a tremendous amount of structural steel for work platforms, staircases, and handrails. Each year, the business would experience bottlenecks due to a lack of sufficient manpower to produce enough structural steel for their agricultural clients. After vigorous analysis, both FIM and the agricultural client realized that their combined resources would still not be enough to effectively facilitate the large-scale project. FIM quickly pivoted in response to these challenges, deciding to invest in a beam processing line to assist with the project. This investment allowed FIM to incorporate CNC equipment and delegate existing manpower to tasks such as welding and finishing, effectively tripling the customer’s structural steel production volume.

In that same vein, FIM believes that equipment investments, similar to the beam processing line, drive growth and its ability to serve a larger pool of customers.

“As we add more machines to our fleet of CNC equipment, we are constantly visiting our clients, assessing their needs, identifying the specifications for products we may not currently be producing for them, and trying to invest in equipment that can address not only one client’s needs, but many clients’ needs,” said Kornelsen.

With a steadfast dedication to ensuring client satisfaction and an incredible team of industry experts who are equipped to solve any issue that may arise, FIM prides itself on its quality deliverables and positions itself as a leader in the structural steel fabrication industry.
