The expectation of a brand from a display fixture is simple: get the product off the shelf quickly! The design of the display fixture is imperative to follow the brand’s voice and understanding of the customer segment. Owing to the fast-paced evolution of everything, from customer perception that changes the placement of the product to the design of the fixture, brands have to look out for an experienced partner who understands the manufacturing and marketing aspects of the display fixtures. The partner should deliver on time and be flexible to accommodate arbitrary and different ideas that follow once the prototype is delivered to the brand. The onus is on the manufacturer to ensure the fixture’s functionality is as desired and can be scaled without compromising the quality. One company that has been doing this consistently since 1978 is Franklin Display Group.

Started in Franklin Park, Illinois, Franklin Display Group uses its design and engineering expertise to timely deliver custom displays and fixtures. “We make everything from simple wire forms to really complex display cabinets that incorporate lighting and electronics,” says Lee Hoang, VP of Engineering, Franklin Display Group. “We produce around 500 prototypes every year with the intent of driving sales for our customers.” The engineers in the company work towards perfecting prototypes for every single project before actually manufacturing the fixture.

The team at Franklin Display Group is experienced enough to identify issues even before any steel is cut and offer suggestions to develop the idea from a prototype to an actual working product.

Hoang explains how seven out of ten times, they have to re-engineer the engineering design provided by the customer. The new nice, clean drawings become the Bible for the prototype where an engineer can validate that everything will work. In addition, the crew has over 20 years of experience as metal workers. They can deliver the manufactured goods quickly, enabling Franklin to furnish products to their customers on time.

The functionality and safety of these products are paramount for the team at Franklin Display Group. These qualities have earned accolades from the company’s clients. One such client, that has come to appreciate this level of service, is a marketing agency that sold units to a leading fast-food restaurant. In corporate settings, execution is vital to the successful launch of their products. The client came with a concept of display for the restaurant’s lobby, which was complicated to build because of its sheer size and design requirements. The structure needed to hang from the ceiling with custom graphics and electronics attachments. “We made a lot of the hardware that goes in that giant eight foot light structure, right in the middle of their lobby”, says Hoang. “Once that was done, we started making a lot of other pieces of hardware in their lobby, like pick-up racks.” The pick-up racks were designed to cater to the changing needs of consumers who opted for a contactless order pick up due to the pandemic-induced social distancing measures. The installation offered a convenience for the consumer to find their order quicker.
