COVID-19 undoubtedly exposed the fragility of the modern-day supply chain, with many companies struggling to adapt and respond in record time. Ponder over why and you will see that their challenges were most often related to transparency and agility within the supply chain. There was a constant sense of uncertainty looming over the current status of their supply chain and its accuracy and the ways in which they could effectively respond to changing requirements from customers, suppliers, and internal stakeholders. All this was happening in the backdrop of maintaining control over working capital requirements, commitments on reducing carbon footprint and having to make and then keep promises across the extended enterprise. To pull this Houdini act, even in the best of times Organisations would need accurate and actionable data. In these unprecedented times, it brought into sharp focus how much was accurately known about the enterprise supply chain – not the Tier 1 suppliers and customers alone, but the suppliers’ supplier and customers’ customer. What was the resiliency of the supply chain and how quickly it can re-configure the various pieces of the jigsaw to serve the new reality became important question for which the right answers were needed fast. And even if they made a decision, how informed was it and based on right data.

Though these questions seem simple and you would expect well run Organisations to know a lot about the eco-system in which they are operating, it is a matter of continuing surprise that most know very little about their Tier 1 Suppliers (where are the factories located and what are their capacities, which distribution centers are used and so on) and Customers, let alone anything beyond that. In this scenario, what you need is control over levers that can be effectively used to make and execute decisions that achieve the ever-changinggoals – and do it consistently in the face of new forces acting on the supply chain.

This is where InspireXT Consulting comes into the picture.

InspireXT delivers transformational supply chain solutions enabled by Oracle Cloud and complemented by their IP assets and clients’ existing technology investments. “We advise our clients to utilize their existing technology assets and investments as much as practically feasible, whilst augmenting it selectively with Oracle Cloud and thus architecting a hybrid solution that is compelling in nature and delivers tangible outcomes. We bring together end-to-end business process and technology expertise to deliver tangible outcomes for the business,” says Manish Popli, Senior Vice President, InspireXT Consulting.

The company offers Connected Supply Chain, a unique solution that delivers agility and transparency for clients’ supply chain and enables them to fast track their digital adoption. This solution seamlessly orchestrates customer demand to the optimal source of supply – and is hugely successful in omnichannel scenarios - enabling the best possible customer service while significantly improving business metrics.

InspireXT’s point of view is that traditional Supply Chains have long been engineered to follow a linear approach where information and products/services pass along siloed functions, mostly unidirectional. “This gives rise to the typical problems seen in such supply chains – lack of end-to-end visibility across the enterprise, optimizing individual functions as opposed to the whole enterprise value chain, and of course, lack of responsiveness as it is difficult to make all the constituent functions aligned to a common cause,” says Popli.

We utilize our clients existing technology investments and augment these by strategic intervention of new technology to deliver business success

“With Connected supply chain, we look at an end-to-end view of what services need to be delivered by the supply chain and essentially connect the way information is flowing such that the ‘connected’ element in the connected supply chain can adapt to new demands and direct it to the best source of supply.” What customers get with Connected Supply Chain is an adaptive supply chain that gives transparency and optimizes cost across the enterprise – so a wider remit and more enterprise horizon that gives enormous benefits and some real ability to differentiate in the market and positively impact both the top and bottom line.

What’s more? The company offers a Consulting led solution that is aimed at bridging capability gaps within an organization utilizing InspireXT’s Enterprise Value Chain framework. “We call this Capability Development Roadmap. We apply our deep understanding of Value Chains to assess the gap between the current and desired capabilities of an organization. It is important to mention that the desired capabilities come from alignment with an organization’s goals and strategy,” explains Popli. At the end of this process, there will be a set of initiatives, which will transition the client from their existing capabilities to their desired capabilities, along with their dependencies and business case. This Roadmap is best suited to achieve an Organisations strategic goals in a practical and achievable manner.

To better elaborate on the value that InspireXT Consulting brings, Popli emphasizes their collaboration with a large MNC to transform their Supply Chain using Oracle Cloud as a central theme while also stitching together existing capabilities and technologies that already existed.

A key advantage of Oracle Cloud is its natural fit in incrementally developing a solution. The client saw the incremental benefits being delivered every few months as the larger architectural pictureis completed and, in the end, you get a solution that has been delivered at pace but with much-reduced business risk and much better business adoption.

This is an important proof point for InspireXT’s approach - modular and incremental delivery, co-existence with existing technology footprint and a well-thought-out roadmap that progressively delivers benefits. “When I speak about value, it has components along both the qualitative and quantitative dimensions. An example of a qualitative benefit is the customer satisfaction index or repeat buying behavior – both of which have been going up for our client. On the quantitative side, it is mainly reducing the working capital requirements of the supply chain while increasing the throughput and customer conversion ratio, amongst other metrics – so delivering a direct benefit to the clients P&L,” says Popli.

Truly, InspireXT’s breadth and depth of understanding of Supply Chain and clients’ operational challenges and the ability to address those make the company unique. In Popli’s words, “With us, they get specialist advice and implementation experience.” That’s not all! The company’s ability to make use of the existing assets and investments made by clients over a number of years is also an important aspect. “With our experience and structured approach, we can determine what small interventions can be done to give the overall solution that much-expanded capability,” says Popli.

With such a unique approach, InspireXT is growing at an incremental rate, serving customers in the UK and continental Europe from its base out of UK and India. In the next 2-4 years, they expect to deepen their presence in Europe while entering select countries in the Middle East. “We are confident about our ambition, what unique capabilities we bring to the market in a specialized area, and the real benefits we deliver for our clients. We are big on innovation and will continue to develop solutions that are a clever combination of business processes and technology. Stay tuned as we deliver on this promise,” concludes Popli.
