When approached by a major film manufacturer for assistance in reviewing their safety system, Mezzanine Safeti-Gates designed the first dual-acting safety gate system—Roly® safety gate, an ideal fall protection solution for the ledges of pallet-drop to ensure the safety of workers.

Modifying further, their safety gate product-line to deliver customer-specific solutions, the company came up with Open Top models—with no overhead mechanics to accommodate for high loads or to integrate with overhead hoists—and the Pallet Flow models that guard ledges of the pallet flow lanes. For applications with a minimum amount of height clearance, Mezzanine Safeti-Gates designed the Pivot Model safety gate which requires less overhead space and uses fewer moving parts than the Roly® safety gate. “We also provide Dock-Lift gates that automatically close and lock into place as the lift elevates, as well as Dock gates that automatically closes when trucks drives away from the dock,” explains Conway.
All safety gate designs from Mezzanine Safeti-Gates comply with OSHA, ANSI, and IBC codes and standards. “We find inspiration from our customers as they have unique areas where one of our designs doesn’t fit, and then we design a unique solution to fit that area. We are geared by our customer’s needs,” states Conway. For the future, the company aims to continue providing its customers with easy to use, innovative safety devices that work automatically, and provide full protection.
