Sciaky’s Wire-based EBAM metal 3D printing technology is continuously accumulating a high amount of metals, and in recent times, they have even got several new projects ranging from high-level research and development (R & D) projects.
FREMONT, CA: Sciaky Inc. is a part of Phillips Service Industries, Inc. (PSI) and one of the prominent suppliers of electron beam (EB) welding solutions and metal additive manufacturing (AM) solutions. Despite the global COVID-19 pandemic, recently, the company has published an uptick in demand for their Electron Beam Additive Manufacturing (EBAM) and EB welding solutions. In the past few months, Sciaky has even stated about a dozen new projects ranging from high-level research and development (R & D) projects. It also includes the production of prototype and production parts that are mostly related to the aerospace industry. Specifics of the projects are safeguarded by nondisclosure agreements (NDAs) because of their confidential nature.

However, most of the EBAM metal 3D printing projects contain various types of high-value materials, like titanium, Inconel, niobium, copper-nickel, and stainless steel. Besides, the quantity of material deposition is especially high for titanium, which includes 1500 lbs. / 680 kg) and copper-nickel (1100 lbs. / 498 kg.
EBAM metal 3D printing solution of Sciaky's is a wire-based direct energy deposition (DED) procedure. Wire feedstock/raw material is accessible in titanium, tantalum, tungsten, Inconel, niobium, nickel-copper/copper-nickel, aluminum, molybdenum, zircalloy, and stainless steel. Therefore, in various situations, wire feedstock is 50%, not expensive (or more) than powder feedstock. Also, the wire feedstock is safe and can be easily stored than powder feedstock (the powder used in aluminum and titanium is well-known as highly flammable).
According to Scott Phillips, the President, and CEO of Sciaky, Inc, "Sciaky's EBAM metal 3D printing technology provides the widest availability of cost-saving options for selecting high-value metal materials and producing large-scale parts." He even said that "every project is a new opportunity for Sciaky to prove the benefits of EBAM, which proves the industry is actively looking for new solutions to improve upon old processes."
The only industrial metal with approved applications for land, sea, air, and space is Sciaky's EBAM 3D printing solution.
