ANYbotics is introducing a new end-to-end robotic inspection system for energy and industrial processing plant operators.
FREMONT, CA: ANYbotics, a Swiss robotics firm, introduces a new end-to-end robotic inspection system for energy and industrial processing plant operators. Even though there is a growing need for reduced downtime and improved protection on manufacturing sites, technological advancements have not yet kept up with the complicated structures of industrial facilities. ANYbotics' latest fully autonomous four-legged robot ANYmal and its inspection analytics tools offer a scalable solution for automating standard equipment and infrastructure condition monitoring. The organization has begun onboarding early customers who want to implement robotic inspection in their facilities, and installations will begin later this year.

Autonomous mobile robots entering industrial facilities
For successful and productive industrial operations, updated and accurate data on the equipment's health is critical. Inspection data is collected and analyzed in a condition monitoring process, and the results are used to cause corrective measures to improve operational uptime, efficiency, and quality. Even with IoT devices, complete inspection coverage is impossible because fixed-installed sensors will eventually stop scaling in terms of installation time and system cost. As a result, plant operators conduct manual inspection rounds several times a day, sometimes in uncomfortable or potentially dangerous conditions. Robotics technology has advanced in the past few years, allowing for an automated, fully digital inspection solution.
"We have different inspection tours in our plant some take place daily, some even several times a day, to ensure the plants condition. We intend to increase the inspection quality through automated documentation without installing additional sensors on-site. ” Felix Volkmann, Asset Manager, BASF
ANYbotics new autonomous inspection solution is on the move
ANYbotics, a Swiss robotics firm, has worked with industrial customers to integrate robotics into their inspection procedures for the past five years. ANYbotics recently announced the release of the first approved commercial product as one of its end-to-end robotic inspection solutions. The latest ANYmal D-legged robot offers customers an autonomous system with innovative condition monitoring abilities. The robot comes with large-scale autonomy, like obstacle avoidance and self-charging through a docking station for routine inspection tasks without the need for human interaction. The robot IP67 water- and dust-proof ingress protected is suitable for indoor and outdoor environments in all weather conditions.
"Without a doubt, the collaboration with ANYbotics got my team thinking differently about maintenance and inspection. We see significant potential for an autonomous mobile robot to standardize our protocols and improve the quality of the data was collecting." Rolf Claude, Head Engineering Services, RAM/LCC, Stadler Services AG
