Forty years ago, FlexLink changed industrial production through leading modular conveyors to generate flexible production lines. This concept is designed, scaled up, and commercialized worldwide since the 80s. The growth was due to geographical expansion, possible with the assistance of the former parent firm SKF.
The conveyor platform was developed with a modular concept reflected in the naming of the products—the first conveyor range XL, designed for light goods like bearings, packaged food, or lenses. FlexLink launched XS for small goods like syringes, electrical bearings, vials, followed by XM for medium-sized goods like plastic bottles, creams, jars, and XH for heavy goods.
Motivated by the success of the conveyor systems, the firm continued with customer-centric research and development, leading to further products. The pallet system and wedge solutions were breakthrough innovations at that time. FlexLink invested in a platform tailored to the automotive market. The XK heavy-duty platform was the perfect match of robustness and flexibility, meeting increasing demands for the market. The X85 conveyor's release showed a renewed interest in the aluminum beam conveyors, and the X65 platform was launched. FlexLink also released the FlexLink Design Tool, an innovation in how the customer can design their line and simulate production flow.
A flexible industrial palletizer (RI20) was also launched, allowing the company to complete the offer for the end-of-line process. In addition to the advanced robotics offer, enhancements have also been made in operator and product safety, with plain chains.
