Smart manufacturing indicates the technologies that allow manufacturing companies to digitize. Smart manufacturing can enable the objectives of efficiency and effectiveness to be achieved by the manufacturing companies in terms of increased revenue and reduced costs. In order to improve competitiveness, enterprises can expand their business volume with smart manufacturing and thus have positive effects on employment.

PTC, based in Needham, Massachusetts, is a leader in smart manufacturing platforms. These platforms were analyzed from their ability to support innovation, and to plan, deliver, and implement solutions leveraging technologies such as AR, VR, AI, and blockchain. The 2D and 3D design software of PTC offers solutions for life cycle management and service management.

PTC recently launched the PTC Charitable Foundation. It is formalized and extended with a focus on education, community, and the provision of benefits for employees. The “Create a Better Reality” mission enables community leaders to adopt technology and empower employees to have a positive impact on their communities.

Jim Heppelmann, president and CEO, PTC, said, “It is our inherent role as a leading technology company to put innovation to work for good, and I am proud to see PTC embrace a formalized strategy to empower employees and provide both technology and financial contributions to impact positive change.”

PTC Charitable Foundation was created to improve the governance of corporate social responsibility by consolidating philanthropic donations, improving the efficiency, and visibility of these activities. PTC has already partnered with organizations such as FIRST, Girls Who Code and the Boston Museum of Science to invest in future generations of workers, leaders, and innovators. PTC has a long history of giving back to communities where employees work with corporate grants and disaster relief funding. PTC supports a team of City Year Corps members who commit themselves to a year of national service by providing education and mentorship to students in the Boston public school system, through its partnership with City Year Boston. Employees are also encouraged to support their enthusiastic organizations, whether through donations during a variety of philanthropic activities or through personal contributions to non-profit organizations in addition to a company donation.
