Nexteer Automotive, a leader in intuitive motion control, was entitled a GM Supplier of the Year by General Motors during a virtual ceremony honoring the company's 28th annual Supplier of the Year awards on Wednesday, June 24, 2020.
FREMONT, CA: In the event, GM recognized 116 of its best suppliers from 15 countries who have exceeded GM's expectations consistently, created exceptional value, or brought innovations to the company. The awards ceremony was at the beginning scheduled to be a live event, which was to be held in March but was postponed because of the impact of the COVID-19 pandemic. This recognition predominantly for the supplier performance in the 2019 calendar year.

It is the first time for Nexteer to receive this Supplier of the Year award. Nexteer was formerly recognized with GM's Innovation Award in 2017 for the High Availability Electric Power Steering System (EPS).
"Our suppliers play a key role in delivering the products, services, and experiences our customers deserve, and these award-winning suppliers went above and beyond our expectations," says the GM vice president, Global Purchasing and Supply Chain Shilpan Amin.
The Supplier of the Year award winners were selected by a global team of GM purchasing, quality, engineering, logistics executives, and manufacturing. They were picked on the basis of their performance criteria in Global Purchasing, Product Purchasing, and Manufacturing Service, Logistics, and Customer Care and Aftersales.
