Oerlikon AM and MT Aerospace collaborate to equip customers with efficient and effective aerospace applications.

FREMONT, CA: In the field of aerospace, the lack of expertise in handling disruptive complexities leads to the innovative deterioration of the industry. Furthermore, the inability to adapt transformative techniques deescalates the aerospace sector in a competitive environment. In order to deliver sophisticated technological capabilities to the aerospace industry, Oerlikon AM, an engineering material and equipment service provider joins forces with MT Aerospace. With the combined functionalities, Oerlikon AM and MT Aerospace will solve various difficulties efficiently and cost-effectively.

Deviating from the conventional manufacturing methods, the 3D printed components are precise, with which the enterprises can manufacture lighter and better-designed products. Prof. Dr. Michael Süss, Chairman of the Board of Directors of Oerlikon AM, stated, "Through this partnership, we look forward to continuing to lead innovation and digitization trends in the aerospace industry by accelerating and scaling up the process from concept to operational delivery."

He added, "To advance the application of additive manufacturing, collaboration with key players like MT Aerospace is essential. We are looking forward to bringing more additively manufactured parts to aerospace."

Hans J. Steininger, the CEO of MT Aerospace AG, said, "With their bundled expertise, the two partner companies cover the entire value chain from component design and manufacturing to testing and qualification. In this way, we can offer customers a ‘one-stop-shop' solution from product specification to the finished, qualified part."

By bundling the unique capabilities, Oerlikon AM and MT Aerospace are enabling their customers to access their full potential of additive manufacturing. Furthermore, with the partnership, Oerlikon AM is displaying its additive manufacturing, coating, and turbine component solutions globally.

Once in an interview with Manufacturing Technology Insights, Kartik Rao, Head of Marketing of Oerlikon AM, said, "We help companies reduce time-to-market, shorten supply chains, and increase the performance of AM products across multiple industries. This effectively reduces the client's investment required to manage production and the risks associated with product development." For its contribution to industrializing additive manufacturing solutions, Oerlikon AM was recognized among the "Top 10 3D Printing Solution Providers" by the Manufacturing Technology Insights Magazine in 2018.
