The company has introduced several improvements in the equipment to make it more specific and a better tool.

FREMONT, CA: PICVISA is a company that provides industrial solutions based on image processing and machine vision to the national and international markets. Their high-resolution machine vision systems, together with well-defined illumination systems, provide reliable and efficient solutions with high-performance levels that overcome traditional equipment.

The company provides the ECOPACK optical sorter for plastic packaging waste. The ECOPACK equipment can select and classify materials plastic packaging waste such as PET, PE, PP or PS or for the tetra pack or paper & cardboard by composition or color. It is based on its own image processing software, which is specific to each application.

Luis Seguí Pascual, Managing Director, PICVISA, explains, “PICVISA is focused on assisting its clients in realizing every opportunity for change, adapting to the contemporary panorama with its three main product lines.” PICVISA was featured in Manufacturing Technology Insights Magazine as one of the Top 10 Machine Vision Solution Providers in Europe-2019.

Recently PICVISA has introduced a large number of improvements in the equipment. These changes are launched to accelerate the recovery rates and purities of the ECOPACK optical sorter. It will also maintain the steadiness of the results at the highest level.

Following changes are made to upgrade the ECOPACK: inductive sensors have been induced at sensor level to control the blow bar. A new feature is added to control and rotate the speed of the conveyor belt. It will allow controlling when the belt is going at a different speed than the optimum for the equipment. New algorithms are developed to gain more purity and performance. It also detects multilayer materials and separates them from the monolayer. A collapsible walkway has been incorporated for the users, to perform maintenance work on the blowing bars more comfortably. The optical sorters have remote access, which will give the most agile response of technicians in after-sales and maintenance.

“We aim to continue developing AI and Machine Vision-based sorting and recycling products, to maintain our stronghold in the market. PICVISA is focused on assisting its clients in realizing every opportunity for change, adapting to the contemporary panorama with its three main product lines,” concludes Luis Seguí Pascual.
