FREMONT, CA: Solenis, a global producer of specialty chemicals, is collaborating with Pulpex Limited and its global consortium partners on the Pulpex eco-friendly paper bottle’s continued evolution. Pulpex is a new leading sustainable packaging technology company founded by Pilot Lite, a venture capital organization, and Diageo, a drinks producer. The business has created the first widely recyclable PET-free paper bottle made from the sustainably derived pulp in the world.

Richard Brooks, global packaging director for Consumer Packaging at Solenis, said, “This collaboration with Pulpex is another indicator of our commitment to new, sustainable and innovative technologies to the food and beverage paper packaging market. The partnership will enable Solenis to serve the growing eco-friendly paper bottle market while maintaining our commitment to environmental sustainability.”

Embossing, labeling, debossing, and direct printing with food-safe colored pigments and dyes are all possible with the Pulpex technology.

Partners in the Pulpex consortium are developing branded paper bottles for various products, including alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages, liquid meals, homecare, personal care, consumer healthcare, and lubricants. By the end of 2022, Pulpex plans to add the capability of keeping hot-fill and carbonated beverages.
