Raw materials of ceramics
Ceramic materials are inorganic, nonmetallic, complex, and brittle materials is used to make various ceramic products. Modern ceramics manufacturing produces a vast range of ordinary and advanced ceramics using diverse materials, as the history of ceramics focuses on earthenware, porcelain, and brick.
Traditional raw materials of ceramics built of clay minerals are still being used to create porcelain, clay bricks, and stoneware.
Chemical compounds like tungsten and silicon carbide are used by advanced ceramics to create products used in aerospace, mining operations, medicine, and electronics, and some are even used as body armor.
Necessary equipment for creating ceramics
At the industrial level, ceramic processing looks much different than making pottery at home. They are more purified, have fewer impurities, and must be produced at scale to meet their industry's demand.
Ceramics materials should not compromise the integrity of their constituents, so they must be sorted and stored. They will be combined with other ceramic materials to create the compound used in manufacturing goods.

The Stages of Ceramics Processing
Milling
This stage is designed to separate the raw materials from any impurities and prepare them for better mixing and forming.
Sizing, Batching, and Mixing
Depending on the intended application, the raw materials are refined even further through sizing. Batching in ceramic manufacturing is mixing different raw materials into predetermined compounds. The batched materials are blended to give the resulting product a more homogeneous and uniform composition.
Forming
The ceramic materials will be formed into shapes using any number of ceramic manufacturing processes.
Glazing
In ceramic manufacturing, glazing is done with spray. In particular, dried powder pressing uses glazing techniques to support the physical properties of the pressed part.
Firing
In ceramic manufacturing, the firing process is involved in heat treatment to create density and hardens the material to its final results.
