A notable example involves a wood panel manufacturer facing a significant challenge with their infrared heating system, which suffered from thermal inertia and slow response time. This posed a safety hazard, as the infrared sources continued to emit heat even when the production line was stopped, igniting a fire if the products weren’t immediately removed. Seeking a safer and more efficient solution, the customer conducted trials at Pyromaître’s facility, confirming that its technology could achieve equivalent drying results at 100 feet per minute production line speed.
It designed a high convection electric oven with rapid cooling dampers, allowing quick temperature reduction in the event of interruptions. The new system was mounted on a custom base to match the customer’s existing conveyor setup and required less than half the floor space of the previous infrared system. By integrating high convection heat transfer, the company delivered a more compact, responsive and secure solution that maintained the required drying performance without the risk of overheating.
Two core areas of specialization are stress relieving and tempering. Solutions for stress relieving cater to all types of springs, like compression or torsion, helping ensure that these components maintain their structural integrity while avoiding unwanted distortions during the heating process.
On the tempering side, its conveyor and in-line ovens, especially well-suited for single-piece flow processes, offer a competitive advantage in industries where rapid processing of individual parts like gears, axle shafts and CV joints is critical.

The system’s design streamlined the integration process, enabling springs to be placed and picked from a single position, simplifying coordination with upstream and downstream equipment. The outcome was a highly efficient system that reduced energy consumption by a significant 33 percent.
