Ken Breinholt, SVP, Chief Market Development OfficerThis is where Rinchem steps in. The company seamlessly manages semiconductor manufacturers’ chemical supply chain and supports their projects.
Founded in 1976, Rinchem is the largest network of chemical and gas distribution centers globally, with more than four billion pounds of chemicals and gases safely handled every year. The company has set the benchmark in designing and managing safe and efficient supply chains for high-purity, pre-packaged chemicals and gases. Beyond the semiconductor industry, Rinchem also caters to the pharmaceutical, biotech, and aerospace sectors.
“Our more than four decades of focus on chemical management has allowed us to build a reputation for safety and security,” says Ken Breinholt, SVP, Chief Market Development Officer, Rinchem. “We have uniquely positioned ourselves as the trusted partner of both chemical manufacturers and end users.”
Rinchem safely transports billions of pounds of chemicals, hazardous, and non-hazardous materials every year, allowing semiconductor companies to focus on their core competencies. It has the capability to consolidate the shipment process by bringing together multiple chemical manufacturers that are transporting materials to the same destination.
Rinchem has also established supply lines from most major semiconductor chemical and gas manufacturers with facilities near key manufacturing zones. As a result, its logistics network supports businesses requiring logistics services. Most important, Rinchem provides customers with real-time visibility to minimize supply chain anomalies. The company, in fact, works collaboratively with clients to address any unprecedented issue.
The robust capabilities of Rinchem can be best exemplified by the success story of a semiconductor fabrication plant that was on the verge of shutting down due to critically low inventory. To avoid this, materials had to be delivered within 24 hours—a difficult feat indeed, given that the client had an international supply line.
Another stellar experience is that of an automotive chip company that approached Rinchem after its previous logistic firm failed to deliver its materials on time. Despite all the roadblocks, Rinchem was able to ship the materials on time and to the right place.
The unparalleled experience in the chemical supply chain has made Rinchem a widely acknowledged firm in the semiconductor market. An unbiased, neutral approach in pursuit of perfection has allowed the company to offer customized services to all of its clients—no matter how complex their requirements are.

Description
Founded in 1976, Rinchem is a complete chemical management solution provider to streamline the global chemical supply chain for the semiconductor space. Rinchem stems its roots in creating and managing safe and efficient supply chains for high purity, pre-packaged chemicals and gases.
Datuk Wira Arham Abdul Rahman, Chief Executive Officer of the Malaysian Investment Development Authority (MIDA), commends Rinchem for its unwavering commitment to establishing a solid presence in response to the growing demands of the semiconductor industry. "We are delighted to witness Rinchem's global expansion to Malaysia with the opening of their fifth hazmat warehouse. This new warehouse will create valuable opportunities within the electrical and electronics (E&E) industry's supply chain, particularly in high-end wafer fabrication manufacturing. As Malaysia is recognized as a pivotal hub for E&E manufacturing, the demand for hazardous materials in this sector continues to rise. To maintain our relevance, it is crucial to foster a collaborative ecosystem that encourages both large companies and startups to adopt innovative supply chain solutions. MIDA is confident that Rinchem's presence in Malaysia will contribute to positioning the country as a leading hub for the storage and distribution of hazardous materials in the region."
The state-of-the-art warehouse offers 3,050 pallet positions and provides comprehensive storage capabilities for a wide range of hazardous materials. Rinchem's expertise in managing complex supply chains ensures that the facility prioritizes safety and efficiency while adhering to strict global standards.
Matt Jensen, Rinchem's VP of Global Warehousing, emphasized the significance of this new facility. "Given the semiconductor industry's rapid growth, driven by global governmental incentives, Rinchem is uniquely poised to support the expansion of chemical and semiconductor manufacturers. With nearly five decades of experience in managing the most intricate supply chains worldwide, each warehouse we establish is designed for safety and efficiency in accordance with our global standards."
The Malaysia warehouse is an authorized public bonded warehouse that offers cleanroom services and is equipped to handle various chemical types, including base, acid, flammable, oxidizer, and non-regulated substances. The facility provides a range of temperature options for storing sensitive materials:
1. Ambient Section (non-regulated & flammable): 23 ± 3°C
2. Cold Room: < 10°C
3. Freezer Room: < 0°C
Designed with meticulous attention to detail, the Penang warehouse provides segregated storage areas for different chemical types. The allocation of the pallet positions is as follows:
1. Ambient Section: 2,000
2. Flammable Room: 600
3. Cold Room: 100
4. Freezer Room: 30 pallets
The Penang hazmat warehouse represents Rinchem's first venture into Malaysia, adding to their existing international warehouse locations in Taiwan, South Korea, Ireland, and Israel. This strategic expansion enables Rinchem to strengthen its presence in the Asia Pacific region, offering localized and efficient supply chain solutions to meet the evolving needs of its customers.
