At its core, Rosti provides leading-edge injection moulding services, but the company’s expertise extends throughout the entire manufacturing process—from design to delivery and everything in between. The design element starts with the Rosti innovation labs. The company has recently established in house capability to help customers design and refine products for mass production. This also incorporates new tooling designs and techniques for multi shock capability. Starting with material selection and environmental considerations of a design, the company then maximises efficiency and reduces waste through its philosophy of automation in the manufacturing processes. Rosti’s specialist labs have been designed to take a customer’s concept ‘from design to reality’ in 72 hours to make resin intent prototypes. “With a robust NPI process alongside state-of-the-art factories kitted out with the best standard machines, we can execute a project at the lowest cost but delivering the highest quality in the shortest lead time,” says Mr Wrigley.

With all the dynamics of today’s world and the impact of COVID, Rosti has adapted its ways of working to overcome the challenges and essentially make customers’ lives easy. “Our flexibility and approach to safety for both employees and customers was maintained whilst we also continue to deliver and meet customers’ demands—or support them where demand has fallen,” says Mr Wrigley.

“We are proud to offer customers virtual tours of our manufacturing facilities, allowing them to explore each site in detail and at their own pace.” Rosti’s policy is to hold accreditations that ensure business continuity from the ISO suite complemented by sustainability and targeted industry standards to provide guaranteed service across different industry sectors. More importantly, Rosti has adapted to offer virtual audits of its sites, plus audits from accredited agencies to give customers added confidence in its capabilities.

Also, as a dependable partner in uncertain times, Rosti takes a conservative financial approach to ensure they remain dependable for customers during the current crisis. The company has traditionally taken a conservative financial approach to operate from a position of stability. This approach continues to this day, with Rosti’s secure position being bolstered by its relationship with its owner Nordstjernan, a Swedish family-controlled investment company. This ownership structure benefits the company with unique resources, financial stability, and the solid reputation the group brings. In turn, this provides customers with security and peace of mind. “Our parent group—with 13 billion turnover—exists to develop its trust and make predominantly long-term investments to make things good,” states Mr Wrigley.

Having invested 1MEUR into a new innovation lab in Asia two years ago, Rosti has recently made a second 1MEUR investment to further build an innovation lab in Europe and is about to expand into North America, where a third innovation lab is being built. Each lab has a dedicated team of engineers who combines technical and production expertise to support customers in agile development programmes that deliver ideas to market more rapidly and cost-effectively than traditional technologies. Additionally, Rosti is actively looking for the right acquisitions, and this spread could be anywhere across the globe, from America and Asia to Europe. “Since 1944, we have succeeded by operating with integrity, excellence, and in close relationships with our partners. We have prospered for 75 years, and we intend to continue for at least another 75,” concludes Mr Wrigley.
